"BRAIN STRUCTURE IS NORMAL"
I can't possibly emphasize, capitalize, or italicize the significance of these words enough. Max' MRI results came back late today, and Dr. D. called with the good news.
So we know there was some calcification, which Dr. D. said would not show up on the MRI. I'm not quite sure what it means, but I'm thinking it means yes there will be residual effects from the brain bleeding, but NOTHING like we expected.
Since there's always a little sour to accompany the sweet, Max out-and-out failed his third hearing test. It was administered in perfect circumstances and this result can't be explained away otherwise. Dr. D. stood bedside while the technician tested him; he said that no brain activity was indicated. Next up is contacting our otolaryngologist, the same one who did Meaghan's ear tubes surgery. He's AWESOME and comes highly recommended by our pediatrician.

That's (mostly) WONDERFUL news!!! What a relief. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for Max's ears.
