22:31 – Max finally got his MRI tonight. The whole thing took about an hour. They transferred his oxygen supply and monitoring hardware to portable systems that were placed under his crib. Then, they wheeled the whole shebang through the underground connecting tunnel to the building across the street where The Machine lives.
I wasn't able to go with him since the route is restricted to non-hospital personnel. I could have taken the over land route, but then I'd still have to wait outside the room while it was going on. So I just stayed in his room until it was over.
Max was mildly sedated before the procedure. "To take the edge off", said his respiratory therapist, to ensure that he didn't move too much during the scan. The NICU needs a similar edge dulling service for the parents.
I'd pay extra for that.
