I was with Max until 1:00am again. He didn't awaken the whole time, so I didn't really get a chance to judge his mood today. I became a little anxious when his feeding tube became obstructed during his 11pm feeding. The nurse thought she may have to replace his tube. The procedure of inserting a feeding tube is very uncomfortable for the patient. Fortunately, she was able to clear the obstruction using distilled water and a syringe.
I also noticed that his color was a little more jaundiced today than it has been recently. Melanie said she also noticed the same thing when she was here earlier today; but his last bilirubin test came back normal. We'll try to find out more on Wednesday if this could be an issue.
