10:16 -- God forbid my son should be awake while I visit him! He hasn't moved since I arrived an hour ago. I am sitting next to him as I type this. Here's the latest: Max had a good night. At his 5:00am diaper change there was a bit of blood in his stool so they ordered a chest and abdomen xray, which revealed he was FINE. This is the second time since 5/25 it has happened. Max' blood gas came back "good" again. The RRT lowered his breathing assistance again. There will be no extubation today as we suspected. "Maybe tomorrow." Whatever.
Other than that nothing else is going on with him today. My favorite nurse is not here today which means it's a little lonely. Today is my 34th birthday. Needless to say, this is not quite how I pictured spending it.
