10:10 -- Max had a good night. Daddy Phoo came up to the hospital last night and Max didn't rouse for him either. We both noticed that he appears more yellow than he had been the past couple of days. His platelets count dropped to 26k so they're going to transfuse more soon this morning. They will do it through the existing IV spot in his head which the nurse flushed this morning and told me was a good line. The Nurse said that could explain the additional petechiae.
It looks like he's finally gaining "good" weight, not just fluid retention. Today he weighs 6 lbs 13 oz. Yesterday and the day before he weighed 6/11 and 6/9 respectively. Some good news....
The blood gas came back "okay" today. There will be no change today but tomorrow they're lowering his SIMV rate from 18 to 10. I'm not quite remembering what the hell that rate means, but what I do know is that is what the more cautious doctors want before transferring to CPAP.
