August 18 - Real Life Begins

Today I went back to work from my two leave I took when Max was discharged from the NICU. Melanie was home alone with Max all day for the first time. Scary business. Max had a visit with his otolaryngologist (or so we thought). It had been raining heavily all day. Melanie made it to the clinic on time, but had to park far from the building in a uncovered lot. So now there's a dash across the lot in the pouring rain with Max and all his medical paraphernalia. However when she got to the reception desk, she was told that Max' appointment wasn't until Thursday, Aug 21.
