May 9

Maxwell will probably have his umbilical catheter removed today. It can only be in for the first 7-10 days before it becomes an infection risk. We have opted to try for a normal IV line first instead of a PICC line. Normal IV is harder to get correct since his arteries are so small, but there are additional risks associated with PICC lines.

With the recent increases in volume of milk being given in his feeding tube, his intravenous TPN feeding will be able to be reduced from 5.5 to 4.0 units.

Grandma and Grandpa came into town again today for this weekend to see Max and help out with his older sister.
